this is how I feel

If you’re new here (hello!), This is How I Feel happens on Fridays, reflecting my deep, deep love of GIFs and dumb captions.

Whenever I interact with a teenager.

This is How I Feel, Volume 35

When I open a stall in a public bathroom and someone’s already in there.

This is How I Feel, Volume 35

Whenever someone calls me Rooster.

This is How I Feel, Volume 35

When every article caption in my Facebook feed is “*tears!*”

This is How I Feel, Volume 35

TEARS!! [about family reunions]
TEARS!! [wedding proposal]
TEARS!! [raccoons cuddling]
TEARS!! [a cat mauling a rubber duck]
TEARS!! [a photo of Kim Kardashian]

Oh man, I can’t take my eyes off that owl!

Dude…I had no idea it was Friday until I saw your post on Facebook for TIHIF. And then I did a little shimmy shimmy shake shake at my desk in celebration. There is no video evidence of this office booty dance, and it shall remain a secret between us….and every single person that reads your blog.

So not as much of a secret as I’d hoped. But, hey, we’re all homies here. Can’t I get a woop woop?!! Fist bump?! Awkward silence?

    Check. Check.

Congrats, looks like Rooster has made your day!

LOL. I love the community on this blog.

  • Reply Amy December 6, 2013 at 2:31 pm

LOL! I was kicked out my own family room by my teenage daughter for acting, “random and weird” in front of her friend.

    • Reply Leah Butler December 6, 2013 at 2:45 pm

      LMAO Amy –

I am waiting for this on baited breath with my own daughter. Practicing all my really EXCELLENT “random and weirdness” now so that I have an arsenal at the ready for those teenage years. It’s gonna be EPIC.

Yes to all of these! Well, except the Rooster. No one calls me Rooster for obvious reasons, but I feel you.

Will Smith + Uncle Phil? Seriously. Dude, I’m old.

don’t usually comment. but ugh really will?! i’m kinda feeling like that owl!

  • Reply Mandi December 6, 2013 at 3:16 pm

Really?? Will Smith??? Mind blown. The owl is perfect.

Also… dumbest crooks ever with the car break-in. It took me by surprise, too, since the steering wheel is on the “wrong” side. haha

  • Reply Trude December 6, 2013 at 3:27 pm

Duuuude yes to them all, once again. :)

  • Reply Amanda December 6, 2013 at 4:05 pm

My mouth literally dropped open like that owl when I read that captain. He’s how old now?! Silly me thought he was immortal.

OK…going along with my usual giggles at my favorite day of the week post and then you drop the bomb about Will Smith. How dare you make me feel so old on my favorite day of the week?!? LOL

Oh, This is How I Feel Friday, how I love thee. These. Are. Hysterical. On point once again Roo!

  • Reply Ceci Bean December 6, 2013 at 6:31 pm

Is it weird that my husband and I say “I’m hip, I’m with it, ducka ducka ducka” on a regular basis?

  • Reply Megan @ Teaching Every Day December 6, 2013 at 6:54 pm

I had (have) a mad crush on Will Smith. The Fresh Prince is still cool with gray hair, right?

  • Reply Shelby December 7, 2013 at 2:20 am

Oh my word. That last one! I am certain that was my exact reaction as I read that! Older than Uncle Phil?!? Help. Me.

  • Reply Amy* December 7, 2013 at 11:05 am

Died laughing over the “bathroom stall” and started crying when I got to the end over the owl (resisted urge to annoyingly write *tears*).

  • Reply edna December 7, 2013 at 12:03 pm

    lurve! and also tears!!

  • Reply Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? December 8, 2013 at 9:15 pm

So, it’s okay that I call you Rowdy Roo, right? Maybe I should stop that in my head.

And, one time, I was at a park at dusk and there was an owl sitting on a sign..and it totally did it’s head like that. Freaked me out!

  • Reply Megan December 9, 2013 at 11:37 am

Oh my gosh, I was just thinking the other about that Austin Powers scene and how that is SO me! hahaha! Also, it took me a minute to figure out why someone would call you Rooster. I was like “that’s weird, who just calls someone Rooster?… oh, “Roo”, I get it.” :)

OMG, I was just waiting for the HUUUUUHHHH. And I’m a little sad that my kids will never find that as funny as I do.
