This Place Reminds Me of Santa’s Workshop

Except it smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.

Ahhh, Will Ferrell.  Two weeks til Christmas.  TWO WEEKS!  At this time of the year I’m doing the “AHHHH why can’t I be one of those people who gets all of their shopping done in July” lament.  If you’re one of those people, can you comment and tell me how stress free and lovely your life is right now?  And then email me a reminder next June?  (If everything – not just iPhones – was Emoji compatible, I’d be dropping one right here.)

I’ve put together a little guide of gifts you may not have thought of yet.  The adult guide (WHOA WHOA WHOA that sounded unintentionally provocative) has ideas that work for either gender, and some make perfect stocking stuffers.  (Note: anything kitchen-y is a safe gift for foodies, people who host parties, a parent or aunt, or an add-on gift.  Gentlemen, do not let a kitchen-y gadget be the only thing you give your wife.)  A-a-hem, here we go.

Coffee Cup Cozy, $5
2013 NeuYear Calendar, $30

MegaBloks Mega Play My Knight’s Castle
Colorblock French Barrettes, $8.50
Rocktivity Pound ‘N Jam Drum, $15

Not a bad round-up, right?  And as a gift to you, I’m giving away some of these items!

Coffee Cup Cozy by Quite Crafty / a huge NeuYear 2013 calendar (really cool design; I love this thing) /  this gift set by Treefort Naturals / Eat Sleep Create Repeat mug / five card variety NGN pack / fern necklace / Animatone headphones / colorblock hair accessory / Zipit Baby Playsuit

I’ll be randomly picking nine (9) winners!  All of you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what you’d like for Christmas.  :)

Giveaway ends Wednesday, December 12, at 11:59pm EST.

Disclosure: I have either purchased or received the above items complimentary in order to facilitate my review.  Each item was handpicked for my gift guide, and each one gets a stamp of approval.  If I owned a stamp.  I should buy a stamp.  No brand has monetarily compensated me for inclusion in this gift guide.  Word to your moms.

I am one of those….those people who are done way early with Christmas Prep. Except for the last minute online order for things I know are always available at the beloved amazon.com. All I ask for Christmas this year is a cook-free holiday? That is entirely too much to ask since the man of my life has generously offered our home up to host 3 Christmases this year….so maybe another time I will get to be served food instead of cook all day :-/

  • Reply Jen December 10, 2012 at 9:45 am

All I want from Christmas is cold weather! My husband and I just bought our first home in Florida… and although I love the house (and the location isn’t too bad either!), I just can’t get into the Christmas spirit without a chill in the air! Please, Roo Claus, if the weather won’t cooperate, a little fab little gift for my husband or family would certainly help make the season bright! ;)

However, that Honey Soap Gift Set from TreeFortNaturals may have just jumped to the TOP of my list. MMMMmmmm it sounds heavenly!

On another note, all I want for Christmas is a vacation. It doesn’t have to be tropical or require a plane to travel (although I wouldn’t object), but just some time to sit on my behind and clear out the TiVo would be great.

What I would like for Christmas is a pair of Uggs. I know I’m like 9 years late to the Uggs party. I resisted forever because I thought they were ugg-ly, but I found some cute ones and I think I would live in them if I had them.

  • Reply Carey ~ Gypsy Thread December 10, 2012 at 2:12 pm

A self-cleaning house would be super. Think you could find one of those to include in next year’s gift list? It wouldn’t have to come with a Rosie the Robot, a la the Jetsons, although that might be nice too. Just looking for a simple model that kept the floors clean and dishes washed, with a windows (cleaning) upgrade option.

  • Reply Cassie December 10, 2012 at 2:31 pm

Well, I received my ipad mini early ;) I’m very happy, but I wouldn’t say no to a new batter bowl (yeah, I’m that mom who offers to make a million cupcakes for her kid’s party)

What I want for Christmas from your lovely list: the perfect red lipstick for my face/coloring–it’s so tough to find the right shade that doesn’t have the undertones that don’t go with my skin, y’know?

Not on your lovely list: jewelry and/or a personal trainer.

  • Reply Christine December 10, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Thanks for the suggestions! It’s corny but I’m most looking forward to traveling to Philly and spending Christmas with family. My partner’s sister has a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old, so it promises to be a real “Kid Christmas” and I couldn’t be more excited.

  • Reply Megan December 10, 2012 at 4:18 pm

I think I’d like my baby for Christmas. He’s due January 2 but I kind of want him to show up before the end of the year… :-)

Ooh I have a big wishlist, but most of the stuff is very boring and not giftable. New dishwasher anyone? I’ll probably get something super awesome from the hubby and some cashola from my ‘rents. The shorties all buy me a gift, usually something like an ornament or lotion.

  • Reply Marisa December 12, 2012 at 1:42 pm

Hmmm, already have my [signed!] YHL book, but I’d just love some time to finally crack that spine! But from your collection above, I love those note cards and calendar, or the headphones for my kiddo. I’m skeptical about the Coffee Cup Cozy because – no joke – I submitted that for a Young Inventors contest when I was in middle school (early 90s), called it Mug Hug, had my mom help me sew a mock-up, the whole deal. So the skepticism lies in paying for a product I could have potentially patented myself and be in early retirement on. :)

What I would NOT like for Christmas is for my baby to come early:) stay in there another few weeks, little one!
What I WOULD like for Christmas is a relaxing day with my hubs and his family…and a gift card for another prenatal massage wouldn’t hurt either:)

I’d like knitting stuff, make up, make up brushes… And to have my hubby home from deployment!

I would love to get a Maid for Christmas :) Or at least the help of a professional organizer to help me get my crafting chaos under control.

I’d like an extra 3 hours a day so I could catch up on my scrap booking.

Sleep. Lots and lots of sleep…without my daughter kicking me or taking up 3/4 of the bed with her tiny but pointy body!

How about an all expenses paid trip somewhere… say to India or Indonesia ?? Alternatively, a new purse or pair of earrings would be just swell, too :)

So I was going to enter last night after I saw your reminder on my fb… Then I had to take m to the ER, and then we got transferred to another hospital and here we still are, with my baby on oxygen…. So I was gonna tell you how I wanted either a housekeeper, winter tires for my truck, upright freezer, Bissell pro heat lift off carpet steamer OR pink Lego… But now all I want is for my baby (and the rest of us) to be healthy and for me to be able to still perform in our Christmas concerts this weekend. That’s all. :) what do You want? :)
