Each week, I compile a small collection of stuff I wrote, read, tried, watched, tasted, fell asleep on ( last two are mostly a joke).
After a survey in Brazil revealed that a shocking 65% of those surveyed at least partially agreed with the statement “If women knew how to behave, there would be less rape,” a journalist started a viral hashtag campaign. More here at Adweek.
I’m still GIF-ing out over at BabyCenter, parent-style.
I didn’t write this, but this is a very nice guest post over on my other blog, Scratch or Sniff.
All of the comments over on this post! So inspiring. I love the bootstrapping mentality that so many of you have. You guys made it really, really hard to choose just one person (for real!), so I had to throw numbers into a randomizer. If I had an unlimited amount of time and resources, I would love to sit and chat with all of you about goals, dreams, fajitas, etc. Since I cannot, I’d like to put aside 30 minutes a week and make this offer: you + me, chatting for 30 minutes, brainstorming together and coming up with a quick action plan.
As the graphic says, the entirety of the fee is going straight to a non-profit. If you’d like more info on this (just getting details, not committing) throw your info up in here.
The Girl Meets World cast photo! Omg omg omg omg omg. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a spin off Boy Meets World, but now Cory and Topanga are the parents. I KNOW.
The Sandy Ground: Where Angels Play project. In honor of those who lost their lives in the Newtown shooting in December 2012, 26 playgrounds are being built and dedicated. I took the girls and we played at one dedicated to James Mattioli this week. My hope is that the families of the victims will take heart in knowing that so many happy memories will be made there.
I was out shopping and had to use the ladies’ room. I walked into the ladies’ room and was like, omg what is that, it smells amazing, I’m in love. I see this candle in the bottom of a huge decorative Pottery Barn jar. I couldn’t see the name of the candle, so like a fool, I reached down into the huge jar, grabbed the little jar candle, picked it up, and read the bottom. Then I couldn’t put it back without 1) dropping the jar and potentially breaking the glass or 2) burning my hand. So I wet some paper towels, grabbed the jar, gently lowered it into the huge jar, without breaking anything or scalding my hand. Yes, I’m basically MacGyver, yes, I’m also a moron, but now I know the name of my new favorite candle. You’ve done something similar, right? Right right right?
