This morning on Instagram I’m seeing photos of kids going back to school, while I’m still getting used to summer.  Didn’t we just have a blizzard?  I don’t know.  I’m sweating.  I feel weird.

Tomorrow, Sophie and I are waking up early and headed to see her allergist for a three hour appointment.  The girls’ recent allergy testing showed that Remmy has outgrown her wheat allergy (in the words of Lil Jon, YEAHHHH), but Sophie’s results came back as being positive.  Her doctor thinks it might be a false positive, which is common in testing, so she suggested that Sophie comes in for a wheat challenge.  We’ll be there super early, Sophie will eat some wheat, and then the doctor will monitor her to see how she responds.  I’m hoping and praying that she too has outgrown her wheat allergy.  It would be a game changer for us, and I keep daydreaming about coming home and baking bread the whole family can eat.  BREAD!  Crackers!  Vegan cake instead of gluten-free and vegan cake!  I am scared of how excited I am, because I don’t want to be all :( :'( :( tomorrow if they tell me she’s still allergic to wheat.

When the allergy list is as long as theirs, every food we can add back into their diets is a victory.  I mean, even mustard, which comprises – what – .05% of the average American’s diet?  I even cheered when mustard was giving the thumbs up.  YEA MUSTARD, go ahead with your dijonny self.

The two older girls are on ‘camp break’ this week and next, and I’m also gearing up to start homeschooling Remmy.  :O :D :O :O

With summer coming to a close, I’m going to go on a blog-lite schedule.  It’s always an iffy decision to make, because less blogging usually means fewer pageviews which definitely means less income, but it’ll be good to catch up on some things and square other things away.  :)  I’ll still be blogging, but less than five posts a week.  YOU TOLD ME IT WAS COOL.  :)  In between posts, if you’d like to scroll through the archives or past series, this page is good for that, this page has all of the categories listed, and at the very bottom of this website is a drop down box where you can read by the month.  I’ll still be posting regularly on the big 4, so you are welcome to follow me on FacebookTwitterPinterest, and Instagram.

And if I still have as much dirty laundry at the end of the month as I do today, then you all have permission to come slap me around a little.  ^:)

Well they weren’t missing anything in my opinion by not being able to eat mustard :) I’m interested in the fact that you’re homeschooling Remmy. I know lots of homeschooling moms and I respect the crap out of them (I am counting the days until school starts back up!) May I ask what made you decide to homeschool? Just me being nosy :)

Forgot to throw this link in there! Here’s where I explain the homeschooling decision:

Best of luck with the homeschooling! Depending on the results of our first grader’s gifted testing next week, I’m considering pulling him out and homeschooling him. It’s enough to make me break out in hives just thinking about it, but the idea also excites me. We shall see.

As long as we still get our This Is How I Feel Fridays, you’re forgiven. ;)

    • Reply Roo August 7, 2013 at 11:05 am

Haha! I was actually thinking that if I’m only posting two or three times a week, that TIHIF is going to get old, you know?

      • Reply Kirsten August 7, 2013 at 11:09 am

But it makes Fridays so fabulous! ;) Alright, how about every other Friday?

      • Reply carlotta August 7, 2013 at 1:20 pm

well you could do a “this is how I feel month” and you’d STILL be forgiven :)

      • Reply Dana August 7, 2013 at 1:30 pm

nooo you can’t get rid of TIHIF!!!!! Those make my Fridays bearable!

      • Reply Erin August 7, 2013 at 3:44 pm

I am pretty sure that it won’t get old. It makes my days awesome. I typically read it on Monday morning and it puts me in a great mood. At least for a little while.

Good Luck!!!! I hope everything comes back neg-0-tive with her wheat test.

We’ll miss your posts everyday, but can you at least just throw us a bone and do a sketch? I’d be happy with that ;)

Have a great Sunday night of Summer, Roo! My kids start back in a few weeks, and we are readjusting schedules, shopping for school stuff, and pumping the kids up…

  • Reply Amelinda August 7, 2013 at 11:27 am

I support your decision, but I will miss my daily dose of Roo!

    • Reply Amelinda August 7, 2013 at 11:28 am

And remember, short posts with kiddo pictures count, if that bumps your weekly posts up to 3-4 instead of 2-3 :-P

  • Reply Leigh Ann August 7, 2013 at 11:28 am

I don’t know how you do 5 a week now. I try to manage 3, but if I had other deadlines, that becomes 2 or 1 or none. My older 2 start kindergarten in 3 weeks so taking it easy sounds like a great plan.

good luck tomorrow with the wheat-a-thon. i will make a little novina to Our Lady of Toast that all is well. actually, jk on the novina to OLoT but will for sure say a prayer for health for the fam.

Nooooooooo! Please do not deprive us of TIHIF – I need those wee gifs like a fat kid NEEDS cake on Fridays. I shall weep uncontrollably like a kid who missed the ice cream truck. Because it’s all about me. You knew that right?

*Cheers* Yay for mustard and ‘possibly’ wheat too.

You’ll probably dream about Ritz crackers dancing in high-kicks tonight.

Aw, good luck Sophie! I am hoping you can bust out the bread machine soon (they are awesome btw) :).

“With summer coming to a close,” WHAT!!!? I’m just getting used to summer! WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!? It kills me every year. I just figure out what the hell to wear, and summer comes to a screeching halt, and I have to start all over again.

Take as much of a break as you need. Because I am a total luddite, I click on your page everyday…just to see if you have something new. So don’t blame your dip in page views on me…I’m keeping up my end of the bargain. I think.

    • Reply Roo August 7, 2013 at 11:16 pm

BUT I JUST BOUGHT A SWIMSUIT! I totally get it.

Bless you, Rebecca. Bless you and your pageviews. :)

      • Reply Lesley August 12, 2013 at 12:42 pm

just curious do pageviews count when they are read in a reader like feedly? I usually read there b/c I am lazy and can get through a bunch of blogs quickly but there are some I would click on if it helps you out.

Nooooooo!!!!!!! …..ahem… I mean umm, it’s cool, we’ll adjust :-) tooootally cool with Fresh Lite. Enjoy the summer! Fingers crossed for bread!!

Good luck on the wheat test!!

How the heck did this summer fly by so quickly?!? I had a whole host of fun things planned with the kiddo’s and we have barely scratched anything off our list. Sigh. I am actually sad to see them go back to school. I mostly love having them home (let’s forget about the days when they are fighting like cats and dogs!) and I feel like I hardly see them during the school year with all the after school activities and so on. At least they are stuck inside with me over a lot of the winter! I get them nearly all to myself then when we have 3 feet of snow everywhere!

Gah!!! Summer is almost over and it makes me very sad :/ except I just got this suuuuper cute sweater at GAP, so I was all yay fall! No, wait, more summer…..
Hope Baby Shark is given the go ahead for delicious floofy carbs, and enjoy your break!!! I’m looking forward to the blogs when you start homeschooling! I asked my 9yo if she wanted to homeschool and she was ‘um, no. I have friends mom. I don’t wanna hang with you all day’

    • Reply Roo August 8, 2013 at 10:52 am

Hahaha tell your 9 y/o to come stay with me for a week. Wait, I’m no longer cool to 9 year olds. Never mind, carry on. :)

You have girls, who like doing crafty things. She would be in heaven, away from her lil bro who thinks he’s a ninja and we are all the enemy….

Oh my gosh, if my son could eat wheat, I might pass out with excitement! If he could eat corn or soy, that would be helpful too. I can deal with the egg, dairy, peanut and misc fruit allergies but the wheat, corn and soy have been SO hard. I totally relate to the whole allergy thing. People think I am crazy because I read food labels constantly, but I have to. It’s nice to know there are people out there who “get it”.

Congrats on homeschooling! We’re planning on homeschooling as well. It’ll be great!
