End of Summer

August is notoriously slow in blog-land, unless you’re the kind of blogger that writes heavily about back to school and tutorials on crafty gifts for teachers, etc etc. People are doing all sorts of end of summer things, like last minute trips and ramping up for the first day of school. I think I’m going to join them.

End of Summer

I’ve got a couple work projects so I can’t shut things down entirely (the pros and cons of being a freelancer), but I’m going to get ready for back to school and probably clean something and maybe do a day trip with the girls or plan a couple of one-on-one dates with them before we get back to the grind. I’m also (this is suddenly starting to not sound relaxing) signing up for a couple of online tutorials (I bought a DSLR recently, and I’d like to learn how to actually use it), and maybe I’ll tackle a project or two that I’ve been putting off.

Case in point, I have at least four frames in my house that are brightly displaying stock photos of families that do not belong to me. Anyway, while a lot of you are doing that end of summer thing, I’ll do the same. In the meantime, here are some links if you’re looking for a midday work break or something like that.

– I write for Adweek’s daily blog, if you’re into branding, marketing, + advertising.

I’m also on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. And if you want to come over my house every morning and shake me vigorously at 5am so I can get up and start my day, I’d totally be into that, too.

Cool. [sunglasses emoji]

August seems to fly by. July was all slo-movin’ and easy paced. Anyway, I’m gearing up for my son’s birthday and the first day of Middle School. But first, more pool-time!! PS- Vigorous shaking at 5am sounds like a recipe for murder. Maybe that’s just me.

Hey–if you find a good DSLR online course, will you please share? Thanks!

June (we had another human!) and July (reunion/weddings) were kinda hectic for us, so August has been laid back. This last week of summer vaca our number one fav Aunty (my sis!) is in the country so we’ve got some day trips planned. I was actually ahead of the game and got the kids supplies like last month, so I’m pretty stoked about that.
The camera shop we bought mine at offered some free intro classes, so I took those. I like taking pics (mostly of my kids) but I’m def no professional photographer. It’s fun though. I still have yet to take pictures of all four kids together with anything but my phone, though.
Can’t we just chill on the couch and watch Mindy over and over? I’m tired.

Oh man. Just got sucked into the comment section on the Anthro story. My only comment? I sure as heck would’ve walked to the register and returned my $700 worth of clothes.
