in reading material

Each week, I compile a small collection of stuff I wrote, read, tried, watched, tasted, fell asleep on ( last two are mostly a joke).

H&M, Gisele Bundchen, and Bob Sinclar teamed up to create a song/music video and royalties go to UNICEF! Yay! Except that it’s kind of bag. Bummer.

This tequila ad is pretty funny; wrote about it here.

If you love TIHIF right here on Fridays, you might like the parent-related GIF series I’m doing on BabyCenter. Still waiting for them to escort me off the premises, but it hasn’t happened yet.

All of your notes on snapchat. ICYMI, I’m now on snapchat, and if you’d like to follow me there (roociambriello), I’m sending out snaps every time a new blog post is up. Why? Because FB is weird sometimes and people aren’t getting notifications. I’m also sending you videos of Batman dancing and whatever it is I’m eating for lunch. I know, I’m not really selling it well, but I’m really enjoying everything you’re sending me.

26 Struggles Only People Who Are Constantly Hungry Will Understand… Tina Fey’s “There’s no cake?” GIF speaks to me in a deep, personal way.

I’m truly madly deeply in love with this planter from Anthropologie. Surprisingly – unlike most things at Anthropologie – the price is incredibly reasonable. My only wish is that it came in larger sizes. Which leads me to my question – any recommendations on where to buy pretty large planters online? Right now all of my large plants are in the original plastic bucket, sitting on a plate #swaggy. Pls help.

chest-bumping

Once a week I’m going to give a little public football chest bump to some of the NF partners that help keep this site rolling semi-smoothly. Minimal bumps. Minor fender damage, really.

Devin runs this dope little shop called Stitch Culture. If you appreciate pop culture and movie references (I do, I do, I do-oooh), give her shop a visit.  I currently have “Brush Your Shoulders Off” and “You Go, Glen Coco” on my office wall. Makes fun gifts for your fraaands.

Stitch Culture @ NEON FRESH Reading Material || Neon FreshThis is… hysterical. I am always aghast at the types of questions my friends who have adopted have to field. Here’s a super funny guide to asking questions about adoption (h/t Kristen Howerton).

Catch you tomorrow for TIHIF!

ALL THE FOOD MUST HAVE ALLLLLL THE FOODSSSSS. That was hilarious. And now I want pizza. Pizza is totes appropriate for breakfast. And tequila.
As for planters online….ehhh….target maybe? We have some big ones for our banana trees and lime tree, but we picked them up at the local nursery, sorry :( they usually have some cool pottery ones that I like. Plus, local.

Those GIFS had me cry laughing… spot on.

And now I’m going to stalk the comment section of this post because my wife purchased one of those fiddle leaf fig trees and it is still sitting in the plastic planter screaming for a real pot three weeks later.

I think I need the “Don’t leave the dishes *NSYNC” hoop. Bad. Also, if you have time to stroll around TJ Maxx or Marshalls, they usually have a variety of planters around this time, or IKEA. I <3 IKEA. :)

That always hungry buzzfeed list had me going too…I feel like they know me so well! Also, love your Kel reference. My friend asked “who loves orange soda” at work and got crickets in response. I told her to find a new job with cooler people.

I always want to start this off with Roo-sie, and I just can’t understand WHY. Anyway, Home Depot has a surprisingly large selection of planters that are usually reasonable in price. Also, Home Goods, if they have a garden section, have great planters but I don’t think they all have these sections. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW! :)

Hahahaha… “Did you get those boobs ’cause you couldn’t have boobs of your own?” and then his face… that was hilarious. Roo, I really want to be cool enough for snapchat but I just feel like I’ll be that mom who’s trying to be down with the teenagers. I’m only 28 but still. I already feel super old when the high schoolers at church are like “What is a Cabbage Patch? Is that like a tattoo?”

I just received my DMX hoop from Stitchculture! Her work is awesome! It’s on to dainty floral fabric, so it’s a little Golden Girls, a little Ruff Ryders :) Perfect!

I already regularly check out your site, so I kinda just want to add you on snapchat so we can be be BFFAE! I’m great at girl talk, providing snacks, browsing sephora. Too much? Think about it! Get back to me.

That video is so awesome. As for planters, try West Elm. They have some great ones made out of fibreglass I think so they are really light. Can’t remember the price though.

I’m not sure what you’re looking to spend, but have you considered planter covers instead of an actual planter? Then you can buy cheap pots to accommodate your plants’ growing root system and just cover up the ugly pots. They are also washable, so no worries if they get dirty over time. (My grandmother had a plant nursery for YEARS, and as a kid I HATED having pot scrubbing duty trying to keep the planters looking clean after a watering). Honestly, they’re pretty simple to make;I could probably make you some until you find a planter you like.

Here’s one I found on luvocracy:http://www.luvocracy.com/kaelynpaige/collections/homey-things
